Youth Programme

Five Days in the Art World

This unique programme caters to secondary art students in their final year at high school.

18 exceptional and highly motivated visual arts students are selected each year to participate in a series of workshops, visits and events exploring pathways to careers in the arts.

The programme includes visits to art schools, galleries, art organisations, zine collectives, art publishers and artists studios. Students learn about artist residency programmes and awards opportunities, and meet practicing artists and creative professionals who provide practical advice and insider knowledge to guide students.

Follow us on social media for updates, or contact email hidden; JavaScript is required to find out how students can become a part of the programme.

“It was more than what I expected. I have learned a lot about the careers in the art world and it also helped me to decide on the tertiary institutions. It creates a link with the people in the art world and we were privileged to hear their stories.”

“Visiting an art gallery for the first time and seeing artwork that I wasn't used to was a highlight. Growing up in a place where graffiti was what I considered art, it was nice to see all these abstract artworks in the gallery.”
